Carbon nanotubes from post-consumer waste plastics: Investigations into catalyst metal and support material characteristics

چکیده
Carbon nanotubes were produced from post-consumer mixed waste plastics using a pyrolysis-catalysis process. The catalysts used Ni-Fe bimetals supported over four different porous materials. Ni-Fe/MCM41 catalyst displayed the highest catalytic activity for of in terms carbon material yield at 55.60 wt.%. order was Ni-Fe/MCM41> Ni-Fe/ZSM5> Ni-Fe/Beta > Ni-Fe/NKF5, which closely related to their differences pore volume and reducibility. Formation alloy with fine particle dispersion is suggested be crucial promotion decomposition precursors subsequent precipitation form nanotubes. Whereas, large size led irregular shapes simultaneous decrease purity graphitization By-product production hydrogen quantities (38.10 mmol H2 g−1plastic) could as process fuel.

Carbon Nanotubes As A Premium Catalyst Support Material
Carbon nanotubes are a special carbon material having a highly graphitic nature and nanoscale dimensions. These tubular filaments were first observed from steam cracker when electron microscopes came into wide use around 1950s [1], however, intentional synthesis of carbon nanotubes in bulk quantity wasn’t successful till 1983 [2]. Without formal presentation, this invention was mostly unknown t...

RECEIVED DATE (to be automatically inserted after your manuscript is accepted if required according to the journal that you are submitting your paper to) Preparation of high-quality single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) has been advanced by controlling several parameters including the catalyst and the catalyst support material. Although zeolite has been frequently used as a catalyst support ma...
متن کاملProcessing real-world waste plastics by pyrolysis-reforming for hydrogen and high-value carbon nanotubes.
Producing both hydrogen and high-value carbon nanotubes (CNTs) derived from waste plastics is reported here using a pyrolysis-reforming technology comprising a two-stage reaction system, in the presence of steam and a Ni-Mn-Al catalyst. The waste plastics consisted of plastics from a motor oil container (MOC), commercial waste high density polyethylene (HDPE) and regranulated HDPE waste contain...
متن کاملRenewable hydrogen and carbon nanotubes from biodiesel waste glycerol
In this report, we introduce a novel and commercially viable method to recover renewable hydrogen and carbon nanotubes from waste glycerol produced in the biodiesel process. Gas-phase catalytic reforming converts glycerol to clean hydrogen fuel and by replacing the problematical coke formed on the catalyst with high value carbon nanotubes, added value can be realised. Additional benefits of aro...
متن کاملIsolation and Characteristics of Collagen from Fish Waste Material
Collagen is the most abundant protein of animal origin, comprising approximately 30% of total animal protein. There are at least 19 variants of collagen, named type I to XIX. Types I, II, III and V are the fibrous collagens. Type I collagen is found in all connective tissue, including bones and skins. It is a heteropolymer of two "1 chains and one "2 chain. It consists of one-third glycine, con...
